Final Four package details unsettled

Anthony Travel is listed on Stanford's Road to the final four page as Stanford's travel partner. Clicking the "Travel" link from the above gets to this Anthony Travel page that mentions a few things that the package "may" contain: hotel, air fare, etc.

It would certainly be convenient to have an agency put all this together, more convenient and less stressful than our recent scramble to arrange Norfolk travel on short notice. Possibly cheaper, too.

So I called Anthony travel hoping to get more details and some kind of ballpark estimate on the price. No go. The pleasant and personable rep I spoke to was unable to give me any details. The details of what would be in the package "have not been decided at this time" she said, so even an estimate of the cost wasn't possible.

She was definite that as soon as the details were settled, they would send "an email blast" to everyone who had signed up for email using the button on the page linked above. So you should do that.

If you want to try bugging them about this directly (couldn't hurt), the Stanford package is handled by Anthony's Dallas office with the number 800-736-6377.

  1. I suppose we can assume that any information about Fresno is equally opaque?

  2. As frustrating as it is to not have details right now for potentially upcoming travel itineraries (which I sympathize with because I am a Planner ... with a capital "P"!!), I wanted to say that I've personally used Anthony Travel for four Stanford-related trips in recent years: two basketball final fours and two football bowl games. The one year I arranged final four travel for myself and my family, I spent a lot of time organizing, not much time enjoying, and my "itinerary" left a lot to be desired!
While likely not the most economical option, the four trips we took with Anthony we very well organized. It was easy to book "last minute" travel and their handling of the ground transport piece alone was worth the price of admission :-). So, just wanted to make a "shout out" that my experience has been a very positive one in these circumstances. We will likely use them each and every time Stanford competes in the post-season... speaking of which... May this year be the one where our favorite team brings home the trophy! Go Card!

  5. There's a bus going from Stanford to Fresno (and back) on both Saturday and, if we win, on Monday. But I couldn't find this information on the FBC site. ? Ken
